Free Traffic…

Hey,

I was talking with a friend recently about some struggles people run into when they get started online and one of the biggest issues is traffic that doesn’t cost them a lot of money.

So I figured I’d share a few free traffic resources/ideas…

First, get business cards and give them out to everyone you talk to. You can get 250 of them for free here.

Second, set up a blog and write a post every day. The secret to this is to write about popular topics and relate them to your topic. That way if the latest news is Oprah’s new book, people will do searches for it and find your blog.

Third, post a video on www.TubeMogul.com every day. Same concept, you can even use the same content as your blog post, but Tube Mogul will send your video to several sites for added leverage. Make sure to mention your site at the beginning and end of the video.

For free video software, go to www.JingProject.com or www.ScreenToast.com.

Fourth, write an article every day and submit it to www.ezinearticles.com. (Even if you do this once a week, you’ll still get traffic, but more often is better). For the topic, keep it the same as your blog and video.

Simple and effective.

I’d love to hear your thoughts about any of these techniques and any other’s that have been working well for you.

    Hi there Mike,

This is simple, not over techie and to the point. Love it, another great way to get some free traffic would be to do a search for some groups or forums in your area of expertise and join in the conversations and contribute on a weekly or daily basis. Most forums allow a signature which you can add your website to. Just a word of advise, give more than you take with all your traffic generating techniques and keep in mind, Rome wasnt built in a day!

    Thanks again Mike, great article!

    Well said J.

The forum idea is another great way to not only get traffic, but build relationships with potential clients and get noticed by future JV partners as well.

    Mike,
You take away a lot of the excuses we might make for not driving more traffic to our sites. If you are like me, The Lazy Jamaican, and you think that you can’t or don’t know how to post a video, you can even pay someone a small fee to accomplish the task you outline in your post. If you are really strapped for cash, find a high school kid and pay them a couple dollars to do what you can’t or won’t do.

You have some great point’s Mike. I like it!

    Hey Donovan,

great points. All of us are good at somethings and not so good at others. The beauty is, as you mentioned, you can find someone to help you very inexpensively.

There’s also a free video service at http://www.animoto.com that will create a video for you with music and pictures very easily. =]

    Mike
I’m sure you are unaware of the impact you personally have on people
who are trying to learn. We really relate to you.

You will surpass a lot of those gurus out there. You must believe it, that it takes a special type of person to teach, and you have what it takes.

I wish you were known to me when I first started floundering about the internet.

Thank You for all your help
